High GPA, extra-curricularMar 29 2011Civil Engineering
high GPA, extra-curricular activities, and a good SAT score. admissions is getting tougher by the year.

I had a 27 ACT and 1170 SAT (i also took the sat again they just didn't get my scores)

If you are in-state you'll find that EVERYBODY applies here, so its best to apply early as possible.

I obviously cannot tell you what they take into consideration, but my weighted gpa (according to their weighting) is 3.4. i have a feeling my act score got me in (i applied for summer) and I was borderline so they might have checked my essay and such.
ACT: 27 Female

By the time I graduated high school, I graduatedJul 02 2010Political Science
By the time I graduated high school, I graduated within the top 5% of my class, had an unweighted GPA of 3.7 and a weighted GPA of 4.5. I took all honors classes, only one AP class, and spent my senior year dual-enrolled at the local community college for a total of 18 credit hours. I was told by my guidance counselor that I had a slim shot of getting in with my lack of AP courses, but needless to say, I did get in.

At first when I applied, I only had an 1100 for my SAT's. I got in with that score, but didn't receive any scholarships. I didn't respond to my acceptance, and retook my SAT's. Within a few days of getting my new score of a 1200, UCF sent me a letter offering a $5,300 scholarship.

My advice? Keep taking the SAT if you aren't happy with your scores. My first score was a 1040, and my last was a 1200. That makes the world of difference. Keep your GPA high, take challenging courses, and try your best on the SAT. Friends of mine that were active in school activities got far more generous scholarships so keep that in mind too!

Nothing, it feels like they accept everyone, theDec 23 2009Biology
nothing, it feels like they accept everyone, the satellite campuses are crap so almost everyone from EVERY county within a 60 mile radius applies for the main campus since its the only public college in central florida. (USF is next closest and its 98 miles away going one way one way)

Getting into UCF was a nervewracking process, but inDec 03 2009Psychology
Getting into UCF was a nervewracking process, but in the end it was worth it. As long as you complete your application fully and actually put some time into it, you should be ok. The myUCF website has a bad interface but it tells you exactly what they have recieved and what they need. It also has your residency classification. From the myUCF site you can also find out if you got accepted. Three of my friends have been defered, but they applied in the fall. I highly advise applying for the summer session if you don't have the best grades/test scores. Overall, I think the application process went well. Best of luck to anyone wishing to apply. Go Knights!
